Introduction
For the past several years, members of this informal Consortium have come together in the shared conviction that the Incarnation changes everything and that it should affect the way we approach education. Catholic education concerns people in the fullness of their being and the integration of knowledge in every discipline and realm of study. As a movement that explicitly aspires to such an integral and integrating education, Catholic Studies has a vital role to play in the future of Catholic higher education.
This year’s symposium at Seton Hall University will mark the culmination of four years of relationship-building, planning, and conversation inspired by these common convictions and aspirations. In fulfillment of the mandate issued at the 2023 symposium, we will unveil formalized plans for the mission, organization, and future activities of the Consortium. We hope you will join us in the official founding of the Catholic Studies Consortium!
Call for Papers
The symposium will also include presentations and workshops dedicated to topics such as Catholic Studies curricula, collegiate (co-curricular) experiences, and advocating for and addressing questions about Catholic Studies at your institution. Participants are encouraged to submit proposals for papers on relevant topics. Possible topics include:
