Introduction The Providence College Humanities Program, on behalf of the Catholic Studies Consortium, is pleased to invite abstract submissions for the 5th annual conference of the Catholic Studies Consortium. Our keynote speaker is John Garvey (CUA President Emeritus), with plenary speakers Russell Hittinger (CUA), David C. Schindler (John Paul II Institute), and Jeremy Tate (CEO, Classic Learning Test).
The Catholic Studies Consortium includes over 65 participating Departments, Programs, and Centers dedicated to Catholic Studies and the Catholic intellectual tradition. The Consortium promotes the ongoing development of the field of Catholic Studies as an interdisciplinary research program attentive to the dynamic relationship between Catholic life and human cultures within a global perspective.
Call for Papers The Consortium is specially dedicated to:
Scholarship within the field of Catholic Studies, including critical reflection on the nature of the field itself.
Curricula and pedagogies adequate to building vital centers of learning responsive to the exigencies of higher education in the 21st century.
Co-curricular experiences that build community between students and faculty and emphasize an education of the “whole person.”
Practical strategies for initiating, developing, and sustaining Catholic Studies programs.
Papers addressing any aspect of one or more of these four themes are welcome. Please submit abstracts (of no more than 300 words) and accompanying CV to [email protected] by July 15, 2025. Presentation and discussion will be organized in 30-minute sessions.

Registration will go live at the end of this week. We will send an additional email with a direct link to our registration page.
